Mastercard® Debit Card

A Mastercard® Debit Card allows you the convenience of making purchases or accessing cash without monthly bills, finance charges, annual or per transaction fees. When you use a debit card, the purchase amount is debited from your checking account.

  • No Usage Charge
  • Up to 8 checking and 8 savings accounts can be accessed by one card
  • Point of sale transactions will be debited from a primary checking account
  • Can be used in conjunction with Money Market accounts as long as a primary checking account exists

Tap to Pay With Our Contactless Debit Cards

Our Debit Cards feature contactless card payments. These transactions are made by tapping on a contactless-enabled payment terminal.  When you tap to pay checkout is fast, easy and secure.

How To Pay

  • Look - Find the Contactless Symbol at the checkout terminal.
  • Tap - Hover or tap your contactless PSBT Debit Card near the contactless symbol.
  • Go - Your payment is processed.

Features and Benefits

  • Fast - Tapping to pay only takes a second and it's quicker than swiping or inserting your card.
  • Easy - When it's time to pay, hold your card near the contactless symbol on the terminal.
  • Secure - Contactless payment transactions use a one-time security code that's unique to that transaction. 

Important Reminders

  • After receiving your new card, please remember to activate it and destroy your old card.
    • To activate your new contactless debit card, please call 1-800-290-7893 from your primary phone number.
  • Update your Digital Wallet with your new card information. 
    • If you are not utilizing Digital Wallet, learn more here.

Getting Set Up

To activate a debit card, call 1-800-290-7893 from your primary telephone number. For business card holders, please utilize the information associated with your company to activate your card.

Simple Safety

  • Sign your Mastercard® Debit Card as soon as you receive it
  • Never lend your card to another individual
  • Always check your sales slip carefully before signing it
  • Never sign a blank sales slip
  • Always save your sales receipts and review them against your statement
  • Always make sure the merchant has returned your card
  • Never give your Mastercard® Debit Card number to anyone over the telephone unless you are sure their business is legitimate
  • Check references with the Better Business Bureau
  • Never give your PIN to anyone regardless of the circumstances

Your PIN

For your protection, your Personal Identification Number (PIN) should be kept confidential. Your PIN is your personal electronic signature, and no one has the right to know your PIN. If you know your current PIN, you may change your PIN at any Peoples Security Bank & Trust ATM at any time. If you forgot your PIN, please contact 1-800-290-7893 and follow the prompts or stop by your local branch.

When selecting your PIN:

  • Select one that is easy for you to remember, but difficult for someone else to guess
  • Do not use your birthdate, telephone number, or social security number
  • Your PIN must be four characters, either numbers or letters, and cannot include Q, Z, or be four zeros

Debit Card Security Tips

  • DO NOT give out your card number over the phone unless you initiated the call.
  • Always keep your card in a safe, secure place. Please contact us immediately if your card becomes lost or stolen.
  • Memorize your PIN number. DO NOT keep your PIN number with your card.
  • When selecting a PIN, never use any words or numbers that are tied to your name, address, birthdate or phone number.
  • Change your PIN number on a regular basis.
  • Cancel and destroy any unused cards.

The Fraud Center

In a continuing effort to keep our Mastercard® Debit Cards as safe as possible, we have implemented "The Fraud Center". The Fraud Center allows PSBT to offer our cardholders increased customer service by monitoring their cards for suspicious transactions.

Debit Card Travel Notification

We are constantly monitoring activity on our customers' debit cards as part of our continuous Fraud Detection Program. Based on fraudulent activity in certain areas, your card may not be available to use unless you notify us of your travel plans prior to departure. Please stop by any branch to complete a Travel Notification for Debit Cards or call our Debit Card Department at 888-868-3858.
